Upon completion of a successful 20 year career in the U.S. Navy, Melissa chose to join forces with her sister, Jamie, the founder of Your Body’s Retreat. As a newly licensed Esthetician, Melissa is eager to expand her knowledge of skin peels and corrective treatments. She enjoys the relaxation and therapeutic aspects of skin care. Melissa is also a Certified Sugaring Professional, Certified Classic, Volume, and Mega Volume Lash Artist with Borboleta, LivBay and Lash & Glow. Melissa received her aesthetics training from Bellus Academy in Southern California. She also holds multiple Associates Degrees from Coastline Community College, including Marketing and Business Administration. She is married to Matthew, and they have four children, and a dog named Keke.
Born and raised in Fort Worth, Melissa always knew she wanted to travel and make a difference in the world. Choosing to join the Navy four days after high school graduation took her all over the world. She specialized in electronics maintenance of the AEGIS Weapon System and fire control tactics, as well as training future Sailors. She served on 5 different guided missile destroyers, and completed four overseas deployments to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf. After retirement, she knew she wanted to work in a profession that still made a difference, but in a different way.
