First visit vs Maintenance
Maintenance visits are easiest when kept on schedule every 4–6 weeks. Rather than offering first time discounts, we incentivize our loyal repetitive clients by offering a lower rate for consecutively booked sugaring appointments when scheduled within 6 weeks. This is somewhat like a membership except we do not charge your card every month and you never have to feel salty if you missed an appointment one month.
Our Brazilian rates, regardless of gender are:
First time | Full grown : $90 (includes trimming if necessary)
Maintenance | First time client (non-established/+7 weeks or longer) : $75 (does not include trimming)
Maintenance for Established Clients booked at under 6 weeks : $60

Q. Can I get a Brazilian sugaring appointment while on my period?
Yes. You may receive a Brazilian sugaring appointment while on your period, as long as you arrive wearing a fresh tampon or menstrual cup.
Please do not free-bleed during a Brazilian sugaring appointment. This is for hygiene, sanitation, and professional treatment-room standards. If you are not comfortable receiving a Brazilian while on your cycle, please plan accordingly and reschedule in advance.
You may be more sensitive during your period, especially with Brazilian sugaring. If you are able to take an anti-inflammatory safely, doing so before your appointment may help reduce discomfort. Please follow your own medical guidance and avoid taking anything that is not appropriate for you.
If your period arrives unexpectedly and you prefer to reschedule, that is completely understandable. Please keep our cancellation policy in mind. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with proper notice can be moved without issue. Short-notice cancellations may be subject to the current cancellation or no-show policy.

Questions About, and Behavior to Avoid During Your Male Waxing or Sugaring Appointment
Male waxing and male sugaring services are professional hair removal appointments and should never be treated as sexual, sensual, or suggestive services. At Your Body’s ReTreat in Hurst, Texas, all men’s sugaring services are performed with professionalism, clear communication, and appropriate boundaries.
It is normal to have questions before a men’s Brazilian sugaring appointment, including concerns about sensitivity, modesty, or the possibility of a physical response during the service. However, clients are expected to remain respectful, avoid inappropriate comments or behavior, and follow all professional boundaries during the appointment.
Please do not send explicit photos, make sexual comments, ask for inappropriate services, bring suggestive items, use pet names, ask personal relationship questions, or engage in behavior that sexualizes the appointment. Any inappropriate conduct may result in the service ending immediately and the client being refused future appointments.
Your Body’s ReTreat provides professional men’s sugaring in Hurst, TX, serving clients from Bedford, Euless, Fort Worth, and the surrounding DFW area. We appreciate clients who respect the service, the provider, and the professional treatment-room environment.
Q. “What if I get an erection while I am being waxed or sugared?”
A. It happens and you should not be embarrassed. Most men are concerned this will happen to them. After the first couple times I pull hair out by the root, they realize this is not going to be an enjoyable service. The sugaring technique is a manual technique and it does require manipulation of your genitals. It is professional. There is nothing sexual about the experience and will feel more clinical. I will not make a big deal about it and will not acknowledge it. However, it is not a pass to allow arousal. I know when clients are being genuine and when they are intentionally trying to get and stay erect.
Let us discuss a list of questions and behaviors that should be avoided during your men’s waxing or men’s sugaring service.
My hopes are that I have answered any possible questions in the FAQ’s for Men’s Sugaring. If I have not, by all means, call, email or text me. I will add it to the list. Some of this information has been compiled from my esteemed colleagues in the waxing and sugaring industry. Perhaps SOME of these questions are not necessarily inappropriate as much as they are silly, but I will answer them at any rate.
Q. Can I text you questions about men’s waxing?
A. Yes. I accept text messages for general questions regarding services and appointments. I can tell very quickly if a man is serious or if they are bored and simply playing games. Please understand that though we are in the “cell phone” era and texting is now the norm, I am not the only one who has access to my work phone. Please keep this in mind when texting your inquiries.
Q. Will you apply any lotion or serum to my genitals after you sugar it?
A. No, I will not. I will give you a warm moist towel to remove any sugar residue. I will point out the serums you can use and leave the room.
Q. Will waxing or sugaring make my penis look larger?
A. Some think it gives the “optical inch”. However, shaving or trimming with clippers at home would be a more affordable way to find out. If you insist on receiving a Brazilian with hopes of looking “larger”, I will certainly provide the service. If you don’t “look” larger afterwards, you do not get a refund.
Q. I don’t think my hair is long enough. I think the hair is too short. Can I send you a picture for you to tell me if it is?
A. Please DO NOT. If you send me a picture of your genitals I will see it as harassment and report it to the Hurst police department. Remember, few people have access to my phone including minors who do clerical work for me sometimes. I shouldn’t have to say this anyway. The point is, you know if your hair is too short. The only reason any man would want to send a picture of their genitals is for foul play. I’m not dumb. So just don’t. The rule of thumbs is a grain of rice. If you have shaven in the last seven days, wait at least 10 days before scheduling.
Q. Do you offer a release after you wax or sugar me?
A. No.
Waxing and sugaring is a PROFESSIONAL service. It wouldn’t be such a challenge to find Estheticians willing to service waxing and sugaring to men, if the lot of men would act accordingly. The truth is, most men are wonderful clients. I acknowledge and counsel fellow hair removal professionals that these unfortunate experiences are a “once in a blue moon” encounters. I don’t allow one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Here is a list of inappropriate behaviors you should NEVER do.
- Do not ask for a happy ending.
- Do not wear a ring around your penis to maintain an erection.
- Remove any genital jewelry that will impede your hair removal service. Your Esthetician should not need to manipulate jewelry out of her way.
- Do not bring lubrication to your appointment.
- Do not play with, tug on, or stroke your penis. If your Esthetician needs assistance with making your skin taught, she will ask you. If you decide to do this in my treatment room, it will be the conclusion of the service and I will leave the room.
- Do not address your waxing or sugaring professional with pet names such as “baby”, “sweetie”, “sweetheart”, “beautiful”, “princess”… etc etc. You get the idea. Use our name please.
- Do not inquire of our relationship status or ask us on a date.
- Please do not ogle our breasts while we remove your hair. Trust me gentlemen, we can feel your eyes. It’s weird.
- You know if you are highly sensitive to touch. If you’ve had experiences with prematurely ejaculating while being waxed or sugared, perhaps you ought to take care of that prior to your appointment. This experience will make a professional waxer or sugarist remove Men’s Brazilian services off her menu for good.
Look, it is SO EASY and SO SIMPLE! Be RESPECTFUL. Please regard men’s waxing and men’s sugaring as a professional service and DO NOT sexualize it.
It is very rare to find a GREAT professional waxer or sugarist SKILLED at male Brazilians. Once you find such a diamond, it is in your best interest to take precaution and be respectful. Otherwise you risk being fired as a client or reported to authorities.
*All services at Your Body’s ReTreat are rendered professionally. No service should ever be confused with anything sexual or sensual. We thank you for respecting our professional boundaries.*
Can I use numbing cream before sugaring?
We do not recommend using numbing creams, sprays, lotions, oils, ointments, or topical products before your sugaring appointment.
Sugaring paste is water-soluble and works best on clean, dry skin. Any product left on the skin can prevent the sugar paste from properly adhering to the hair, which may make the service less effective, more time-consuming, or more uncomfortable.
Numbing creams also work primarily on the surface of the skin, while sugaring discomfort comes from removing the hair from the follicle. For many clients, topical numbing products do not make a significant difference in the actual sensation of hair removal.
There are also safety concerns. Some numbing products contain ingredients that may irritate the skin or cause an allergic reaction, especially in sensitive areas. If the skin is numb, it may also be harder for you to recognize when something feels too warm, too irritating, or uncomfortable.
For the best sugaring experience, please arrive with clean, dry skin and avoid applying lotions, oils, deodorant, creams, numbing products, or topical sprays to the area being sugared.
If you are nervous about discomfort, please let us know. We can work in smaller sections, give you a moment to breathe, trim hair if needed, and help make the service as manageable and professional as possible.
Can I Bring Someone to My Sugaring Appointment?
Q. Can I Bring My Best Friend, Partner, Wife or Husband to My Sugaring Appointment?
In some cases, yes. You may bring one adult guest for moral support, especially if this is your first sugaring appointment or you feel nervous. However, all sugaring services are professional hair removal appointments, and guests must remain respectful, quiet, and appropriate.
Guests may not take photos or videos, make suggestive comments, interfere with the service, or create an uncomfortable environment. For intimate services such as bikini or Brazilian sugaring, we reserve the right to ask a guest to step out of the treatment room if their presence affects privacy, professionalism, safety, or the flow of the appointment.
We also offer select paired sugaring appointments for two clients who would like to receive services together. These options are listed as Brazilian for 2 and Maintenance for 2 on our service menu. Brazilian for 2 is $160, and Maintenance for 2 is $110. These are special paired-service rates for two clients booking together.
Children are not recommended at sugaring appointments. If you must bring a child, they must be able to sit quietly and safely for the entire appointment.
Why Is Hydration So Important for Waxing and Sugaring Treatments?
Q. Why do Estheticians tell me to drink plenty of water before my waxing or sugaring appointment?
A. When your skin is dehydrated, it is tighter and will hold on to the root of the hair creating a “tug-o-war” with me and my sugar paste. One of two things happens.
- 1. The hair breaks off, leaving you with a higher possibility of ingrown hair. You just spent $55-100 on a service only to feel like you shaved. I feel bad, but I still have to charge you.
- 2. I win the tug o war match but it HURTS you more. It really really hurts. I speak from experience!
Q. But I DO DRINK PLENTY of WATER! Why am I still dehydrated???
A. The real truth IS; Drinking lots of water to hydrate your skin is really a myth. When you drink water, it doesn’t go straight to your skin. Water goes through the intestines, gets absorbed into your bloodstream, is filtered by kidneys, then hydrates cells (I believe it makes the hair follicles supple and relaxed)- leaving little left to moisturize skin. All of your bodily organs operate optimally and this shows in your skin. To read more about this myth, click here.
Keeping your body hydrated is important. Many things contribute to dehydrated skin. Here is a list.
- Caffeine and Alcohol ~ try to avoid these beverages at least two consecutive days prior to your sugaring appointment. If you cannot, you’ll need to really tank up on water. You need 32 oz of water for every 8 oz cup of coffee you drink just to replenish the water loss. These beverages are diuretics. This is my personal worse. When I’m drinking coffee, I forget to drink water. Sugaring really hurts when I’ve been coffeeing it up all week with no additional water.
- Hot showers and heaters during the winter ~ during the winter, our skin is suffocating in our delightful hot showers and lack of humidity. The dryer your skin, the more uncomfortable a waxing or sugaring appointment will be. Some extra EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids), coconut oil in your smoothie, fish oils etc. can add some necessary healthy fats/oils to your dry skin.
- Flu, Cold, Allergy & Sinus Season ~ all of those antibiotics, cold & allergy medicines will wreak havoc on your skin. Decongestants do a phenomenal job drying up our congestion and also our skin. This is just another reason to RESCHEDULE your sugaring appointment with me until you are completely recovered and off of these medicines for at least 10 days.
- UTI’s ~ See above. And also… ladies, if you’ve recently recovered from a Urinary Tract Infection including a yeast infection, wait three weeks before your sugaring appointment. Even though you have been off of medications for a week, your skin is still recovering from them. You’ll still be a little red and your skin will be dry. Please please please, do not visit me when you are currently going through a yeast infection. I promise you, your service WILL NOT be perfect. You will leave with hair because I will not sugar where you are obviously affected nor will I work around medications oozing from your vagina. Yes, I know… most of you are shocked that I even have to say this.
- Chlorine ~ Hot tubs and swimming pools. It is best to refrain from these activities at least one week prior to your sugaring appointment.
- Soaps and Harsh Body Washes ~ These are super alkaline and will strip our skin of natural oils. It is best to use more Ph balanced cleansers for our body.
So yes, we Estheticians want you to be as compliant as possible. This does not mean “just drink water”. It also implies to be mindful of all the aforementioned factors. Use a water or aloe based moisturizer. Remember to exfoliate weekly. Your moisturizers do not help your skin when they sit on top of dead skin. You will need to exfoliate prior to using moisturizers. Humidifiers will help keep moisture in your home during the winter months or if you live in dryer climates. A diet rich in Essential Fatty Acids can help skin cells stay hydrated as well.
This Is My First Time Sugaring. I’m Nervous.
Take a big deep breath! Inhale, exhale! You will be FINE!
I get it, you’ve never shown your genitals to anyone other than a significant other or your doctor. I am comfortable with the human body. I do not look at nudity in the professional work space the same way I look at my spouse. It is simply different. I have been doing this all day most days since 2010. I promise you are in good hands. I have a knack at making people feel super comfortable rather quickly. I expect after your first sugaring appointment, you will LOVE the result so much, you will not think twice about being nude in front of me again.
Q. Is Sugaring painful?
A. Let’s not sugar coat it or beat around the bush, there is some discomfort with hair removal. Here is the thing. Sugar paste does not adhere to live skin. I can touch your skin with a ball of sugar paste as if I’m touching your skin with my hand and the paste will not stick. In order for the hair to be extracted, I have to manually mold and melt the sugar paste into the hair follicles. What is slightly discomforting it your hair being removed by the root out of the follicle. Believe it or not, a chest wax will be more painful than a male Brazilian. This is followed by the nape of the neck and flanks of the back. The hair roots in these areas are typically very strong, course and deeply rooted. Most men will think that the scrotum will be super painful. It isn’t. During a male Brazilian, the part that will be the most uncomfortable will be the base of the shaft. Both ladies and gents, the butt is the EASIEST! You’ll wish all parts of the body being sugared felt like butt sugaring.
If you have ever been sugared and thought, “This is the worst! This is WAY more painful than waxing!”, something went wrong. Your sugarist could have been using the wrong consistency of sugaring paste. A super warm, sticky soft sugar paste isn’t conducive for Brazilians. If she/he did not pull parallel with the skin or if they used entirely too large of sugar molds, then YES, that will hurt. Also, it is very possible that the times you have been waxed, your hair was breaking and not coming out by the root. Since waxing distorts the hair follicle backwards, it is very easy for hair to break. Professional waxers using a quality wax will get most if not all the hair out by the root and that comes with discomfort. In the hands of an experienced Esthetician, the process of sugaring is only minimally uncomfortable. With all of this being said, be mindful that not ALL Estheticians and Sugaring professionals invest in continuing education. Some believe they can learn by watching You Tube videos. Make sure your professional is 1. Licensed to remove hair and 2. Has certifications of continued education in the art of hair removal and Brazilians.
It is not the most comfortable experience but unlike waxing, this discomfort will dissipate within 15 seconds or so. Most waxes, NOT ALL, adhere to the skin as well as the hair. Imagine placing a piece of duct tape to an area of skin with no hair and ripping it off. IT HURTS, even with no hair. Most waxes are warm to HOT. This heat incites circulation and I personally believe that makes people entirely more sensitive. Sugaring paste is room to body temperature.
I practice empathy in hair removal. This means I trim hair that is too long. I take smaller areas at a time if need be. Pulling 20 hairs out at a time vs. 200 hairs is a HUGE difference in pain. Some other waxing professionals may look at my techniques and think “that is too tedious and will take entirely too long”. Actually, it does not. I am efficient. Those who take super large strips of wax or sugar typically miss a LOT of hairs and have to go back over several times to pick up missed hairs. I am able to envelop all the hair in smaller areas efficiently in one pull preventing me from having to re-wax/re-sugar an area. Not to mention that one ball of sugar paste is all I need to get the job done. I do not have to stop and get more sticks and strips of wax which I find is super time consuming. Another technique in empathy hair removal is to give reprieve or a minute to catch your breath if it is really painful. Also, I have stress balls and tequila in my studio. I put the radio on your favorite station or turn Pandora over to the Jim Gaffigan comedy channel so you’ll be laughing more than thinking of your sugaring treatment.
Q. I am still nervous and don’t believe you about the pain. I have a super low pain tolerance. Can I use a topical numbing cream or numbing spray?
A. Nope, I’m very sorry. Trust me, I have your best interest at heart. Click on the question to learn why and more about topical numbing creams and sprays.
At the end of the day, I will never force you to continue to do anything you are uncomfortable with. If you cannot handle it, tell me. I will stop. Very few clients have not been able to continue. Those clients opted to start slow with a basic bikini sugaring and each additional time took a little more hair off until they finally had their complete Brazilian hair free.
When should I wax or sugar before vacation?
For best results, we recommend scheduling your sugaring appointment about one week to two days before your vacation. This gives your skin a little time to calm while still helping you stay smooth for your trip.
We do not recommend scheduling hair removal the day of your flight or the day before a trip if you plan to be in the sun, pool, ocean, hot tub, or doing activities that may cause friction or sweating. After sugaring or waxing, it is best to avoid sun exposure, chlorine, salt water, hot tubs, heavy sweating, and exfoliation for at least 24–36 hours.
If this is your first sugaring appointment, consider scheduling your first visit 6–7 weeks before vacation, then book a second appointment a few days to one week before your trip. This allows you to become familiar with the service, reduce first-time nerves, and achieve a smoother result before your vacation.
For services like back, chest, or bikini/Brazilian sugaring, planning ahead is especially helpful because some clients may experience temporary redness, irritation, or small bumps after hair removal. Scheduling properly gives your skin time to settle before travel, swimming, or special events.
When in doubt, book your vacation sugaring appointment a few days before your trip rather than the day before you leave.
Q. Should I shave or trim before my sugaring appointment?
No, please do not shave before your sugaring appointment. Sugaring paste needs enough hair to grip and remove from the root. If the hair is too short, the service may be less effective, more time-consuming, or may need to be rescheduled.
Your hair should be at least 1/8 inch long, which is about the length of a grain of rice. If you have recently shaved, please allow at least 7 days of growth before your appointment. For best results, 10–14 days of growth is usually more ideal, especially for areas that have been shaved regularly.
You do not need to trim before your appointment. If the hair is too long for sugaring, Jamie or Melissa can trim the area with professional-grade trimmers as needed. This is especially helpful for areas that are difficult to reach, such as the back, or for clients who may have trouble bending, twisting, or trimming safely on their own.
When in doubt, leave the hair alone and allow us to determine whether trimming is needed at your appointment.
Do you offer body scaping or shaving?
Yes. We offer body scaping, which is a professional trimming service using professional-grade trimmers. This service was previously referred to as manscaping, but we now use the term body scaping because it is more inclusive and better reflects that clients of any gender may benefit from this service.
Body scaping may be helpful for clients who want to trim unwanted or dense body hair without sugaring or waxing. It can also be a helpful option for those who want more comfort, better hygiene, or assistance with hard-to-reach areas.
Body scaping is booked by time rather than by individual body area. A 30-minute body scaping appointment is $65, and a 60-minute body scaping appointment is $125. The time needed depends on hair density, the number of areas requested, and whether we use a guard or trim closer to the skin. If you are requesting full body trimming, please book the 60-minute appointment.
Please note that body scaping is currently offered by Jamie only. Melissa does not provide this service.
We do not offer shaving services. Shaving is outside the scope of our esthetics license and should be performed by a licensed barber.
Full body sugaring services for men are considered on a case-by-case basis and require a consultation before booking. Because pricing depends on hair density, areas requested, skin sensitivity, and the time required, we are unable to provide an accurate quote without first evaluating the service request.
Consultations are $50, and that fee will be deducted from the total cost of the service if you decide to book. Full body appointments are not automatically available online and must be approved after consultation.
