A few months ago, an incident occurred that had never happened to me in my nine years of business. I disappointed a client in some form or fashion because she decided to abandon a gift certificate and not stay for her massage and facial. I would be arrogant to assume that all of the clients I have met over the years have all been satisfied. Perhaps there have been a few who chose not to return. I surely would liked to have known what it was I could do to improve or make their experience better. However, I have never had anyone just leave at the beginning and not want their money back or a credit. I was rather disheartened. The client experience will always be more important than the money.
After speaking with a good friend and colleague she told me something I had not thought of before. She said that I may be marketing and advertising my business in a manner that misleads some into thinking Your Body’s ReTreat is a full service day spa. If a person receives a gift certificate for massage or facial services, they may be under the impression they received a Day Spa gift certificate. There happens to be a day spa with a similar name also located in Bedford which may be drawing some confusion as well.
Your Body’s ReTreat operates within two rooms of a six-room office suite. We share this suite with another massage therapy business, Therapy-N-Motions. I believe we offer outstanding services you would typically find in a day spa. Those services include massage therapy, facials and corrective skincare by Osmosis Pur Medical, advanced body sugaring hair removal, waxing, airbrush tanning, special occasion make-up and eyelash extensions.
Your Body’s ReTreat attempts to accommodate all clients efficiently by keeping two Estheticians on staff during business hours. Services at Your Body’s ReTreat are by appointment only to maintain a quiet environment and to dedicate our time one-on-one with our clients by avoiding interruptions by walk-ins. Your Body’s ReTreat uses Schedulicity, a nifty mobile and on-line scheduler. Using Schedulicity prevents phone tag and offers a convenient method of booking, rescheduling or canceling appointments anytime, anywhere. Your professional is notified via text message and email. We do get busy at times and do our best to return phone calls and emails in a timely manner. In the future, Your Body’s ReTreat will have a dedicated receptionist to answer all calls. 
My client’s experience and satisfaction is of my utmost concern. I intend for all services to be rendered professionally and of the highest quality. I understand that some people want and desire a more “spa” ambiance including amenities such as robe and slippers, a private locker, a whirlpool bath and spa lunch. Your Body’s ReTreat does not offer those amenities. Perhaps one day we will.
Instead of labeling Your Body’s ReTreat a day spa, I like to say we are more of a Massage and Skincare studio where awesome day spa services are rendered by compassionate professionals who love to make lasting connections with their clients.
